The remaining four Heroes recollected and watched the results of the attack from their regular camp before returning to Squid Coast and setting off to rescue the Villagers and take down Archie. During the second attack, where Archie was more prepared and had previously warded off four of the land's Heroes by having their houses burnt down, Karl's cowardice caused him to flee the fight. This encounter led to the events of an Illager named Archie obtaining the Orb of Dominance and attacking Squid Coast twice. They protected the villagers of Squid Coast and Pumpkin Pastures from the mobs, which eventually led to Karl's chance encounter with a raiding Illager party. There were five Heroes who came to temporarily reside on the main island of Minecraft Dungeons before the events of the game as the preceding novel: Adriene, Hex, Valorie, Hal, and Karl.
